Over 40 students are Rembrandt Secondary make up the robotics team which is part of various organizations and competitions. 5th-7th graders participate in First Lego League robotics, 8th-12th Graders in First Tech Challenge, and 9th-12th Grade in SkillsUSA Robotics Urban Search and Rescue. In all of these groups students obtained awards and recognition as follows.
FTC - Inspire Award team 13457 Qualified and participated in Texas State Championship in Austin
- Team 13109 Qualified and participated in State regionals in Laredo
SkillsUSA - 1st place district team of Eduardo Cabrera, Ian Riojas, Mark Latigo in Robotics Urban Search and Rescue.
FLL - programming award,
All of these competitions require high level thinking skills and require students to develop and use their knowledge of engineering, computer programing, planning/development, and problem solving. Vanguard Academy is focused on training and developing STEM in our students and the community.
